Find the right setting in a product’s Advanced tab
The Advanced tab contains several independent parts of a product’s setup. Start with the result you want, then use the task below. A stock quantity, a selling-channel restriction and a cost are different settings.
Open the intended record
- Open Catalogue & Stock → Product Management and search for the product.
- Check its name and SKU before choosing Edit.
- Open Advanced and review the existing values before changing anything.
- Follow the relevant task. Save only the intended product changes, reopen the record and check the affected till or webshop journey separately.
Stock and fulfilment
- Review product stock and channel availability
- Review product variants and their stock
- Correct a recorded stock holding
- Record a product’s stock location
- Record a product’s weight
Check Track stock? and Track stock on before interpreting a quantity. Review Pre-Order separately from whether an item has stock. A physical receipt, transfer or count should use its appropriate stock workflow.
Identity, presentation and files
- Record a product’s brand and GTIN
- Edit product search metadata
- Select an available product-page template
- Review a kit and its component products
- Review physical and digital product settings
- Choose the files included with a digital product
- Manage a product’s attachments
Brand, GTIN and URL have different purposes. Product attachments are also distinct from the files supplied with a paid digital product. Changing a kit or product type needs a review of its dependent stock and fulfilment setup.
Costs, tax, reviews and suppliers
- Record a product’s cost
- Find product tax-class settings
- Review product feedback and its visibility
- Link a product to its suppliers
Where the product can be sold
Review Hide Add-to-basket button, ePOS/In Store Only and the separate website/outlet availability controls for the intended channel. Making an item available in an outlet does not itself record its stock there.
Example: an item is visible but cannot be bought online
Identify the exact product and storefront. Review live state, availability and stock/purchase settings before changing its title or quantity. Keep the observed page and expected result for support so the relevant setting can be checked.
