How can we help?

Review a kit and its component products

A kit or collection groups individual products into a package. Review both the package record and its component products so the description, price and stock plan match what staff will supply.

Inspect an existing kit

  1. Open Catalogue & Stock → Product Management and find the package’s product record.
  2. Select Edit and confirm its name and SKU on General.
  3. Choose Collection/Kit. Review Products in this list and the listed component names.
  4. Identify the search field for finding a component. The list has per-item up and down controls for its component quantity, and [x] for removal. Check the intended component before changing its quantity or membership.
  5. Open Advanced. Review Collection/kit under Identity and classification, then Track stock? and Track stock on under Stock and fulfilment.
  6. If you only needed to inspect the setup, use Cancel. Check the component products separately before changing the package’s stock setup.

Set up the package record

  1. Add the package as its own product, with its own name, SKU, description and selling price. Prepare its photographs and the exact component records. Keep it Not live while preparing an item you do not intend to sell yet.
  2. Open Advanced → Identity and classification and choose Collection/kit → Yes. Review any existing tracking and quantities before converting an established selling product.
  3. Save the main product and reopen it. In the compact editor, open the section selector; the package offers Collection/Kit in place of the normal Variants section.
  4. Open Collection/Kit. Enter the component’s name in the product search and choose the intended suggestion. Confirm it appears under Products in this list.
  5. Check the unit count beside the component. A newly added component starts at x1; adjust it to match what one package contains.
  6. Repeat for the intended components, then review the package’s selling price separately. Save the main product, reopen Collection/Kit and compare every component and count with your packing list.

For example, a gift package containing two candles and one gift bag needs those unit counts recorded against the correct component products. A package name or photograph alone does not define its contents.

Stock needs an end-to-end check

Review whether the kit’s stock-tracking target is Collection/Kit. Review tracking for each component and its variants. Before offering a new package, compare the component quantities before and after a test sale and return. Check the customer and staff journey when a component is unavailable. Do not infer component deductions just from the package’s displayed stock total.

If the kit tab is absent

Check that you opened the intended saved record and review its Collection/kit flag in Advanced. For an intended conversion, review the complete setup, save deliberately and reopen the product before looking for its component tab. Check existing orders, identifiers, prices and stock before converting a selling product.

Set component quantities

  1. Find the component in Products in this list and check its displayed quantity.
  2. Use up to increase the number of units or down to reduce it. Read the count beside the component, such as x2. The quantity controls stop at one; use [x] when you intend to remove the component.
  3. Use the component search to choose an additional product and check its initial quantity.
  4. Review the package selling price separately from component names and quantities.
  5. Save the intended product change and reopen the kit to compare every component and unit count.

These up/down controls change unit counts. They do not set a display order. Check actual deductions for a representative package before relying on the kit’s apparent stock total.

Remove a component

  1. Open the correct package and its Collection/Kit list.
  2. Check the component name before choosing [x]. This removes its membership from the form; it does not delete the component product from the catalogue.
  3. Review the remaining package contents and save the main product.
  4. Reopen Collection/Kit and confirm the intended component is absent. Check the package description, photographs and packing process if its contents have changed.

Check tracking and selling price separately

In Advanced, review Track stock? and Track stock on for the package. A saved kit can show Collection/Kit as the tracking target. Review each component’s own tracking as well, then check the complete sales and return journey before depending on component deductions. Do not enter a receipt or adjust a component’s stock merely to change the number of units packed in a kit.

Keep the package selling price deliberate. A component row’s displayed price and unit count do not replace checking the saved package price and actual order total.
