How can we help?

Practical guides for your shop, WebShop and till.

Record a product’s weight

Record weight consistently across your catalogue. The Weight field displays your shop’s weight unit beside the entry; read that unit before converting a supplier’s measurements.

Prepare the value

Confirm which item the record represents and the weight you intend to record. Keep product weight, packaging and any courier chargeable weight in your notes as separate measurements. Check how your shipping arrangement uses them before changing catalogue values.

Enter the weight

  1. Open Catalogue & Stock → Product Management and edit the intended product.
  2. Select Advanced and find Product type and attributes.
  3. Read the unit beside Weight.
  4. Enter the numeric value in that unit. Use a decimal point where needed; leave unit letters out of the entry.
  5. Check the value before choosing Save changes & close.
  6. Reopen the same product and confirm the stored value and displayed unit.

Example: converting grams to kilograms

If the field displays kg, an item weighing 300 grams is entered as 0.30, not 300. Two such items have a combined product weight of 0.60 kg before considering other products or packaging. This arithmetic example does not establish the courier charge or how a particular shipping method treats the basket.

Check the shipping result

For a shop using weight-based delivery rules, review the intended quantities, products, destination and shipping method together. Check values near a weight boundary. Variants, collections/kits and packaging need representative checks rather than assuming the single-product example describes them.

If a delivery price looks wrong

Compare the saved weight and unit first, then the basket quantities, destination and delivery rule. Record the exact case for support. Repeatedly changing weight to force a preferred delivery price can leave the catalogue inconsistent.
