How can we help?

Review product feedback and its visibility

The Product reviews page shows feedback linked to products, including its date, visibility, reviewer and score. Review the actual feedback before approving it for a storefront.

Find a review

  1. Open WebShop → Product Reviews.
  2. Use Sort by and Display to locate the relevant records.
  3. Check the product, date, reviewer and score. Review the displayed Not live or other visibility state.
  4. Open Edit review for the intended record to inspect its details before making a change.

Open feedback from the Dashboard

  1. In New Product Reviews, identify the product, date, score and displayed visibility of the entry.
  2. Use that entry’s View review link to open its Edit a product review panel. Check the intended record before touching any approval or content fields.
  3. Read the full Review Contents and the current Approved? selection.
  4. To leave an unchanged review alone, choose Cancel. This closes the panel without submitting either Save action.
  5. Use View all reviews on the Dashboard when you want the review list rather than a particular entry’s editor.

A Dashboard entry labelled Not live is still a review record awaiting your decision. Opening it does not approve it. Follow the individual-review or bulk-visibility steps below only for the change you intend.

Bulk visibility controls

The page offers checkboxes, Select all and a Selected reviews selector with Activate and Hide actions. Review the selected set before choosing an action, particularly when legitimate reviews and unwanted submissions are mixed together.

Example: unrelated submissions

If a review contains unrelated advertising rather than feedback on the product, investigate it separately from genuine customer comments. Check the product and full text before deciding whether it should appear.

If approved feedback does not appear

Check the review’s stored visibility and the product involved. The product’s Advanced tab also contains Allow reviews?, while the storefront template controls presentation. Identify which layer needs attention rather than repeatedly changing unrelated review records.

Find product Advanced settings

Inspect an individual review

  1. Choose Edit review for the intended record and compare its product and date with the entry you meant to open.
  2. Review Name, Email, Score and Review Contents. Keep reviewer contact details out of the review message.
  3. Check Approved?: Yes or No controls the record's approval state. Read the full review before choosing its visibility.
  4. If you intend a change, review all fields and choose Save changes to save and continue, or Save changes & close to save and return.
  5. To inspect without saving, use Cancel or the editor’s close control. Reopen the record if you need to confirm its stored state.
  6. After an intended approval change, check the list's Live/Not live state and the relevant storefront product.

Apply a bulk visibility change deliberately

  1. Review the current page's entries and tick only the intended reviews.
  2. Select all acts on the loaded page's review checkboxes; do not treat it as every review on other result pages.
  3. Recheck the selected records after sorting, changing Display or moving between pages.
  4. Choose Activate or Hide under Selected reviews only when ready to apply it. Choosing the action submits the change; there is no separate Apply step.
  5. Read the result, then inspect the selected records and relevant product pages. If an error occurs, check which reviews already changed before retrying.

Hide or delete?

Hide changes visibility while retaining the review record. Delete review is a separate removal action with a Delete Review? confirmation. Review the exact record before confirming deletion; cancel if it is not the intended review. Do not assume a deleted review can be restored through an automatic Undo.

Separate approval, submission and presentation

A review's approval state, the product's Allow reviews? choice and the theme's presentation are different controls. If an approved review is missing, check the same product, saved approval state and storefront layout before repeatedly activating it. If customers cannot submit feedback, review the product's submission setting and active theme separately.

For example, when a page contains genuine feedback and unrelated advertising, inspect each review rather than activating the entire page. Keep the approval decision separate from unrelated catalogue settings.
