How can we help?

Practical guides for your shop, WebShop and till.

Find customer groups and related settings

Customer groups organise customers for rules that can vary by group. The Customer groups page lists the groups available in your account; names such as Trade or Locals are examples rather than required group names.

Find the groups

  1. Open Orders & Customers → Customer Groups.
  2. Find the intended group in the list.
  3. Use Edit to inspect that group’s settings. Confirm the group name before changing it.

Review the settings that refer to a group

Group-based behaviour can be configured in more than one place. The product editor has Advanced Pricing; the category editor includes a Customer Group field; and the discount editor has Assign to customer group?.

Check the setting relevant to your task rather than assuming the group’s name determines what it does. For example, a group called Trade does not by itself tell you which products have an override price.

Example: investigate one customer’s price

Identify the customer’s intended group, then inspect the affected product’s group and variant price rows. Reproduce the same customer and product choice when checking the result. Also note any discount rule applying to the sale.

Before removing or reorganising groups

The list offers Add customer group, Edit and Delete. Review existing customer assignments and rules before removing a group that other settings may reference. Keep a note of the intended mapping when reorganising your groups.

Group maintenance

Check the default fallback separately from explicit customer assignments. Deleting or changing a group can affect which pricing or eligibility arrangement a customer uses.
