Review a Klarna order before capture
Order placement, shipment, payment capture and settlement are different stages. Check the actual Klarna order and amount rather than treating a Builder status as proof of money received.
Review the order
- Find the intended Builder order and confirm its Klarna reference.
- Compare order total, Total paid, Payment Status and actual provider capture records.
- Review the confirmed shipment items and any earlier full/partial captures, refunds or cancellations.
- Check the amount currently eligible/intended for capture, including shipping and prior receipts.
Review the capture action
The order editor can show Capture payment for shipped or partially shipped Klarna orders meeting its payment-state conditions. If a capture is intended, review any confirmation or fraud message and the actual amount before submitting. Changing Payment Status to Paid is a different action and does not itself request a provider capture.
After an intended capture
- Check the actual provider response and capture record.
- Compare the provider reference/amount with Builder’s Total paid, Payment Status and event history.
- For a partial shipment, verify the remaining eligible amount before another capture.
- If a response is missing or ambiguous, reconcile the provider outcome before repeating the action.
Example: two shipments
After the first parcel, compare what was shipped with the actual captured amount. After the second, account for the first capture and shipping before deciding what remains. Do not assume that every displayed Capture payment button means the full order total or exactly the latest parcel should be captured.
Cancellation and returns
Review actual provider/order state before choosing cancellation or refund. A partially captured order can need a different operation from a wholly uncaptured one. Use the verified current returns process for an intended refund; do not change statuses to imitate the provider result.
