How can we help?

Find and review order shipments

The Shipments page lists shipment records linked to orders. Start with the order number or dispatch date so you can distinguish the intended shipment from other records.

Locate the shipment

  1. Open Orders & Customers → Shipments.
  2. Use Sort by to arrange the list and Results to adjust the page size.
  3. Find the relevant date and order reference. Compare the displayed product count and any shipment reference.
  4. Choose View beside that shipment.
  5. Compare the opened record with the order and dispatch paperwork before taking a further fulfilment action.

Example: more than one dispatch

If an order has been sent in separate parcels, use the dispatch date and item information to identify the particular shipment being queried. An order reference identifies the sale; it may not identify just one physical parcel.

If the shipment is difficult to find

Check other result pages and the chosen sort order. Return to View Orders to confirm the order number and its current details. Keep the order reference, dispatch date and any carrier reference together when asking support to investigate.

Record versus delivery outcome

A shipment record is useful dispatch evidence. Check the carrier’s actual tracking information when the question is whether a parcel was delivered. Finding a shipment does not require creating or repeating a dispatch.

Keep the references distinct

ReferenceWhat it helps identify
Order numberThe underlying sale, which may need more than one shipment check.
Shipment date and item informationThe particular dispatch record you are investigating.
Carrier or tracking reference, where suppliedThe carrier enquiry to compare with that dispatch. A ShopTill-e order number need not be the carrier’s tracking reference.

For example, if a customer asks about the second parcel, compare its dispatch date and items with the shipment record and the carrier’s information. Avoid creating a replacement dispatch merely because one reference did not locate the parcel.

When you need a new shipment

For an order that now needs dispatching, use Create a shipment for an order. That task starts from the order’s Ship action and reviews products, shipping information and address before confirmation. Use the Shipments list to investigate existing records; do not create another dispatch merely to obtain a missing document or notification.
