Draft or improve product text with AI
AI can help prepare wording, but the product record still needs accurate facts. Keep a copy of useful existing text before requesting an alternative: the editor replaces the selected field with the returned result.
Choose the intended action
- Open Catalogue & Stock → Products and the intended product’s editor.
- On General, review the product name and existing description.
- For a name rewrite, choose Improve with AI beside the name.
- For a rewrite based on the existing description, use its Improve with AI control.
- To draft a description from the product name, choose Generate Product Description with AI. Check that the title describes the actual item first.
Review the writing options
The product action opens options for Select Formality and Select Tone. Formality choices are Casual, Neutral and Formal. Tone choices include Personable, Confident, Empathetic, Engaging, Witty and Direct. Select the intended combination, then use Go when you intend to request the wording.
Review and edit the result
- Compare the returned text with your source facts and the original wording.
- Check dimensions, material, colours, included accessories, care information, availability and any performance claims that appear.
- Remove invented or unsuitable details and add facts the title alone could not supply.
- Check headings, paragraphs and links in the description.
- Use the product editor’s intended save control only after the text and other product fields are ready; reopen the record and review the intended output.
Example: expand a factual product note
If the existing description says “canvas tote; zip closure; internal pocket”, use that text as the basis for a rewrite and check that those details remain correct. Verify any size, waterproofing or other claim introduced by the result instead of assuming it follows from the title.
If the result is missing or unsuitable
Check which source field you used and whether it contained text, then read the exact error or usage message. Preserve useful wording before requesting another alternative. Do not promise an instant response or assume closing the options cancels an already-started request.
