Review recorded user activity
User activity helps you review actions recorded in ShopTill-e. Use it alongside the affected product, customer or order record when investigating a change.
Filter the trail
- Open Global Settings → User Activity.
- Enter a useful phrase or identifier in Search activity if you have one.
- Select the intended User, or keep All users for a wider investigation.
- Choose Activity. The current categories include Order status, Payments, Orders, Catalogue & stock, Access, Customers and Other.
- Enter the intended From and To period, then select Apply filters.
- Review the timestamp, recorded user, action description and any before/after details shown.
Example: a stock quantity changed
Filter Catalogue & stock around the period in question and look for the relevant product or outlet. Compare any recorded before/after quantities with the actual receiving, transfer or audit record. Include the exact variant and location where applicable.
Widen an investigation
If you find no matching event, remove an overly narrow phrase, select All users, change Activity to All activity, or widen the date range. The Clear link returns to the unfiltered activity page.
What an entry establishes
Read the action description literally. A recorded action is evidence to compare with the current record; it is not a substitute for checking the outcome of a payment or stock operation. Keep the timestamp, user, record reference and observed result with your support query.
Compare related entries, not just one label
A single operation can be investigated through more than one recorded description. If a category or product change is missing from the Activity group you expected, try All activity before concluding that no entry exists. Check the other activity pages as well as the first page of results.
When a stock entry includes Before and After, compare both values for the exact product option and outlet. An entry with the same before and after quantity does not demonstrate a stock increase. Use the relevant receiving, transfer or audit record to explain the intended operation.
