Practical guides for your shop, WebShop and till.

How can we help?

Set up Dojo and Paymentsense card terminals

Connect a Dojo or Paymentsense card terminal to your ShopTill-e till. Builder may label this connection Payment Sense; the setup below covers that integrated-terminal connection, not WebShop payment methods.

Confirm the exact supported terminal model and integrated service with ShopTill-e and your payment provider. Integrated till payments are separate from WebShop payment methods and from a terminal’s standalone mode.

Prepare the provider side

  1. Confirm the intended merchant account, terminal and site.
  2. Follow the provider’s current model-specific instructions for power, network and integrated payment mode.
  3. Obtain the Host Address and Merchant API Key issued for that account through the agreed private channel.
  4. Have support confirm the correct ShopTill-e connection route. Do not copy a sample host or another account’s key.

Enable integrated payments on the terminal

Dojo terminals

On Dojo terminals with the Payments settings menu, open the terminal menu, choose the Settings cog, then Payments. Enter your shop’s authorised supervisor code and enable Pay at Counter. Return to the terminal menu and check that EPOS Payment is available before continuing with the Builder setup below.

Menus vary by terminal model and software. If your terminal shows different options, follow Dojo’s integrated-payment settings guidance for your device or ask Dojo to confirm the correct procedure. Do not change modes while a payment outcome is unresolved.

Paymentsense terminals

For a Paymentsense terminal, follow the provider’s instructions for that model to disable standalone mode for integrated use. If a terminal-management download or TMS call is required, have Paymentsense confirm the procedure and timing for the exact terminal. Use your authorised supervisor access, not default passwords copied from older guides.

Review Builder setup

  1. Open Global Settings → ePOS Payments.
  2. Under General settings, review Enable Integrated Payment Sense Card Terminals, Host Address and Merchant API Key.
  3. For an intended setup, enter the confirmed details, set the integrated-terminal option to Yes and use Save Settings.
  4. Reopen the settings and check the reported result without exposing the key.
  5. Use Update terminal list only for the intended refresh, then inspect the actual listed terminal identities and status.
  6. Confirm each terminal’s outlet and the intended till assignment before an approved payment test.

Before a provider update, reboot or mode change

  1. Identify the terminal model and merchant account, and obtain the provider’s current instructions for that device. If support asks for a terminal-management download or TMS call, use that instruction for the exact machine.
  2. Record any active or uncertain payment request and resolve its actual outcome before restarting the terminal or changing between integrated and standalone operation.
  3. Use the shop’s authorised supervisor access where required. If access is unknown or refused, contact the provider; do not try lists of supposed default passwords.
  4. Arrange the change at a suitable time and record the existing connection and mode. Follow the provider’s model-specific procedure rather than substituting another machine’s buttons.
  5. After the intended change, check the terminal’s displayed state, network connection and intended mode. Review Builder’s terminal identity and the till’s selected machine before an agreed payment test.

Standalone and integrated operation need different handling of the shop order and provider payment. Confirm the agreed recording process before using a fallback mode. Rebooting, changing mode or switching integration off does not by itself resolve an uncertain payment or establish that an earlier request was cancelled.

Example: two tills and two card machines

Record which physical machine belongs to each till and outlet. Similar names do not establish that the correct device will receive a payment request. Check the actual amount and device during the agreed test.

If setup is uncertain

Keep the shop, till, terminal identity, exact error and time for support. Keep the API key private. Do not switch modes or repeat a payment request while an earlier payment outcome is unresolved.

Connection details are account-specific; see the provider’s Connect guidance alongside ShopTill-e’s checked setup process.
