Edit and order marketplace fields
Review the products and external mappings that use a field before changing its name, type or position. A label change is different from replacing a field with a new definition.
Edit a field
- Open Global Settings → Market Integration → Manage Marketplace Fields.
- Find the intended field and choose its Edit control.
- Review Field Name, Field Type and Field Description.
- For an intended update, check how existing values will be used and select the field editor’s Save.
- Reopen the definition and inspect representative product values and provider mappings.
Change the order
- Record the current order.
- Drag a field using its handle, or use the Move marketplace field up and Move marketplace field down controls.
- Read any save/error message. Reordering saves as you move a field; closing the manager does not undo it.
- Reopen the manager and check the resulting order.
Example: put commonly used information first
Place the attributes staff fill most often where they are easy to find. Check a representative product after the change rather than assuming field order also changes external marketplace mappings.
Before deleting or changing a type
Identify existing product values and provider mappings first and arrange a checked recovery plan. Do not delete and recreate a field merely to rename it. Have support confirm the consequences where existing values or listings depend on it.
If a change appears not to save
Reopen the manager and check the actual definition/order before retrying. Keep the exact field and error for support; do not make several compensating edits without knowing which change was applied.
