How can we help?

Practical guides for your shop, WebShop and till.

Delete a customer record

Use deletion only for a record you intend to remove. Similar names or a duplicate-email message do not establish that records should be merged or deleted.

Review before deleting

  1. Find the customer in Customer List and compare number, email and name.
  2. Open Orders and review history. Review On-account orders when an account balance is involved.
  3. Resolve identity and balance questions first. Do not delete a record to bypass a payment issue.
  4. Keep the reference and reason for removal.

Understand the order restriction

A customer with linked orders is protected from deletion. If the action is refused, investigate those orders; do not assume cancelling an order makes the customer eligible for deletion. Ask support about incorrect or duplicate records.

Delete an eligible record

  1. Choose Delete on the intended row, where available to your staff account.
  2. Read Delete customer?. Cancel if the record or checks are wrong.
  3. Confirm only when you intend to remove it.
  4. Wait for the refreshed list, search again and check the result.

Do not assume deletion offers Undo, merges records, transfers orders or refunds money. Those are separate operations.

If deletion fails

Keep the message and customer reference. After an interrupted request, inspect the directory before retrying. If Delete is unavailable, ask your administrator to review access. Do not create another customer just to bypass a restriction.

Example: similar names

Compare emails and numbers and inspect both records’ orders. One may be an established account and the other a different person. Keep both references while investigating.
