Configure offline payment for collection or delivery
Offline Payment lets a checkout order proceed without an online card payment through that method. Use a label that clearly describes the intended collection or delivery arrangement.
Review the method
- Open Payment Methods.
- Find the intended Offline Payment method or add the offered method through the separate add workflow.
- Review Display title, for example Pay on Collection.
- Review Active and save only the intended setup.
- Reopen the method and check the actual checkout label and availability.
Order placed is not payment received
An offline order still needs payment to be received and recorded. Check the actual order and payment status after checkout. Check the actual order, selected method and amount rather than treating the confirmation page as proof of an online charge. The payment-method label does not define collection locations, opening times or shipping eligibility by itself.
Review an offline order
- Find the intended order and confirm the customer, method and total.
- Check actual payment evidence through the agreed collection/delivery process.
- Review Total paid and Payment Status as separate record fields.
- Use the current verified payment-recording workflow for the intended receipt; a manual status or amount edit does not charge a card and must not be assumed to create every ledger/allocation entry.
- Reconcile the order and payment records before marking the collection complete.
Example: pay on collection
The customer places an order using that checkout choice, then pays through the agreed collection process. Match that receipt to the existing order instead of creating a second sale merely because the website order is still pending.
If the status or amount differs
Keep the order reference, actual receipt evidence and current total/status for support. Inspect partial payments and refunds before overwriting a total. Do not use an orange icon from an old screenshot as the only payment-state check.
