Change customer billing and delivery details
Billing and delivery details may differ. Confirm which address the customer wants to change before editing, and check any open order separately.
Find the correct customer
- Open Orders & Customers → Customer List.
- Search by name, email, telephone, billing postcode or customer number. Compare identifying details before choosing Edit.
- Record the current address if needed to resolve an existing delivery query.
Update billing details
- In Billing details, review Name and the address lines.
- Use House name/number and street, then Address line 2, City/Town and County/State/Province as appropriate.
- Review Post/Zip code, Country and Telephone. Check the country as well as the postcode.
- Leave login, group, credit and loyalty fields unchanged when only correcting an address.
Choose the delivery address
- Find Delivery details same as billing details?.
- Choose No for a different destination.
- Complete the separate delivery Name, address, Post/Zip code, Country and Telephone.
- Check both sections before saving so you do not replace billing details with the delivery destination by mistake.
Choose Yes when delivery should use billing details. Record any separate delivery address you need before switching: do not assume hidden fields remain saved for future use.
Save and reopen
- Review the change and complete highlighted required fields.
- Select Save changes.
- Reopen the same record and compare billing, the delivery choice and any separate address.
- Review an affected open order directly before dispatch. Changing the customer does not establish that an existing order’s saved destination changed.
Example: a gift delivery
Keep the purchaser’s billing details and choose No for delivery being the same. Enter the recipient and destination separately. If an order already exists, inspect its destination before shipping.
If the result is unexpected
Check the customer reference, delivery choice, country and postcode. After an interrupted save, inspect the record before retrying. Keep the customer reference and affected order number for support.
