Change your default WebShop domain
The default domain identifies the customer-facing address selected for the shop. Have the new address connected and its secure website working before changing the default.
Review the current setup
- Open WebShop → Domains.
- Record the current Default domain and the separate Domain name setting.
- Find the exact connected domain you intend to use, including any relevant subdomain.
- Confirm the new address and HTTPS setup with support before directing customers to it.
Choose the new default
- Use Make default beside the intended domain. Treat this as a change action: it does not wait for the separate settings form’s Save Settings button.
- Review the result and reopen the page.
- Check which domain has the Default label and what appears in Domain name.
- Check the actual customer-facing site, relevant links, basket and checkout at the intended address.
The separate settings form
Domain name, Enable sub-domain support (don't add WWW) and Use HTTPS? are separate controls saved with Save Settings. Do not toggle them merely to make a failed connection load. Have support confirm the intended values and recovery address before a change.
Example: adding a second address
A second address appearing in the directory does not tell you which address is currently the default. Read the Default label, then inspect the actual website result after an intended change.
If the result differs
Keep both the previous and intended addresses, current labels and exact loading error for support. Do not remove the previous domain while its use by customers, links or other services is still being checked.
